Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - Obsidian Flames

The Pokémon Company International has revealed the next batch of the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames, which will be available in participating stores worldwide starting August 11, 2023.

The upcoming Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames set will introduce Tera Pokémon ex to the Pokémon TCG, where certain Tera Pokémon ex cards will appear with a different energy type. Trainers will see Charizard ex as a dark type instead of the usual fire type, as well as Tyranitar ex as an electric type instead of the usual fighting or dark type. When attacking, Tera Pokémon ex cards will use the same energy as their normal type; however, they will have a different weakness to match their shifted type. These cards will follow the same rules as regular Pokémon ex - when defeated, the moved Tera Pokémon ex cards give up two prize cards instead of one.

Red hot embers light up the black night, and sparks ignite into a firestorm as Charizard ex steps forward with fresh powers of darkness! Terastal's Shining Phenomenon endows some Pokémon ex, such as Tyranitar, Eiskue, and Vespiquen, with different types than usual, while Dragonite ex and Greedent ex show mastery of their own inner powers. Not to be outdone, Revavroom ex, Melmetal ex, and many other Pokémon promise to turn the tide of battle in the Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames expansion!
