Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet

Release date: March 31, 2023

The Pokémon Company International has announced the next expansions for the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game, Scarlet & Violet, inspired by the recently released Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet expansion will launch worldwide on March 31, 2023.

As the first expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, which was originally revealed during the 2022 Pokémon World Championships, Scarlet & Violet will once again see the gameplay mechanics of Pokémon ex, which will appear in every stage of evolution and have high HP, as well as strong attacks and abilities.

The Pokémon Company International also unveiled several card design improvements that will begin production with the Scarlet & Violet sets. The yellow borders on Pokémon TCG cards will turn gray to match the cards released in Japan, allowing for a more fluid Pokémon TCG experience around the world while allowing the card artwork to stand out even more. In addition, sub-categories for Trainer cards - such as Supporter, Item and Stadium - will appear in the upper left corner to make them more visible in players' hands, and Basic Energy cards will display another energy symbol in the lower right corner, making it easier to keep track of during game, and expansion symbols will be replaced with expansion codes and language codes across all cards.
